Mary Lena Colston formed a passion for visual storytelling at a young age with a love of drawing and illustration. In high school she was accepted into the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts’ Visual Arts program studying fine arts, design and sculpture. Later, combining a lifelong love of cinema and visual arts, she graduated with a BFA in Film Design from NCSA. Consequently, Mary approaches every film as an artist, leader and storyteller. A few notable and recent credits are Amazon’s ’Goodnight Mommy’, A24’s ‘The Front Room’, Netflix’s ‘The Kindergarten Teacher’ and upcoming films Mirmax’s ‘The Home’ and Colin Tilley’s anticipated feature ‘Somewhere In Dreamland’. Mary resides in Brooklyn, NY and continues her Production Design work in both commercials and films locally and globally.
